We offer in house state of the art laboratory equipment that are capable of performing blood chemistry, organ profiles, complete blood counts, coagulation panels and urinalysis tests.
Blood chemistries evaluate organ function, electrolyte status, hormone levels and more. They are important in evaluating your pet's base line health status. These tests are also important for older pets, pets with vomiting and diarrhea, toxin exposure and pets receiving long-term medications. CBC's or complete blood count is the most common test performed on pets and people. A complete blood count or CBC gives information on hydration status, anemia, infection, clotting ability, and immune system function. This test is essential for pets with fevers, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, pale gums, or loss of appetite. We perform other in house tests such as: fecal exams, heartworm and tick-borne disease test, Leukemia/FIV test, parvovirus test, and more.
When your pet requires more in-depth testing, blood work is sent to our reference laboratory, Idexx. Most of the test results are received overnight and available to our doctors the following day. Depending on the test(s) requested, results may require a longer length of time.
