Doctor Nurse and Black Dog

The staff at Evers Veterinary Clinic strive to keep your pets healthy and happy. To assure this we recommend annual to biannual wellness visits. During the visit the nurses and doctors gather health and behavioral information to monitor your pet’s health. The doctor will perform a head to toe physical exam to access the pet’s health externally as well as listen to their heart and lung sounds. They will recommend the proper vaccinations that are legally necessary and fit your pet’s lifestyle and exposure to diseases. We will discuss nutritional needs, any behavioral concerns and recommend any blood screening tests to access you’re their internal health. Recommendations will be made for heartworm, flea and tick preventatives. Our goal is to create a long lasting healthy relationship with your pet and family.

Oral health is a crucial component of your pet’s health and longevity. Our veterinarians can evaluate your pet’s dental health and make recommendations for necessary anesthetic cleanings. Dental disease in most often located below the gingival (gum) line. To best evaluate the health of the teeth our technicians are trained to perform digital dental radiographs to evaluate the health of the tooth and the roots. This allows the doctors to determine if extractions need to be performed. The teeth will be thoroughly scaled, polished and sealed with a dental sealant to prevent calculus buildup that lasts up to 6 months. If you like fresh kisses from your pet this is the best way to get them. Please contact our office to set up a consult with one of our doctors.

Laboratory equipment

Our in house laboratory equipment is very useful for emergencies, medication monitoring, organ function monitoring, and pre-surgical screening. The tests we can perform are blood chemistries, CBC's, and electrolytes. Blood chemistries evaluate organ function, electrolyte status, hormone levels and more. They are important in evaluating your pet's base line health status. These tests are also important for older pets, pets with vomiting and diarrhea, toxin exposure and pets receiving long-term medications. CBC's or complete blood count is the most common test performed on pets and people. A complete blood count or CBC gives information on hydration status, anemia, infection, clotting ability, and immune system function. This test is essential for pets with fevers, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, pale gums, or loss of appetite. We perform other in house tests such as: fecal exams, heartworm and tick-borne disease test, Leukemia/FIV test, parvovirus test, and more. When your pet requires more in-depth testing, blood work is sent to our reference laboratory, Idexx. Most of the test results are received overnight and available to our doctors the following day. Depending on the test(s) requested, results may require a longer length of time.

digital radiograph

We have the highest performing digital radiograph system available to veterinarians to perform digital radiography. This allows our technicians and doctors to rapidly perform high quality images to diagnose quickly and as accurate as possible. In the case that a second opinion is necessary the images can be sent for an evaluation and receive a consult from a board-certified radiologist usually within 24 hours or sooner if needed.
